Anita & Peter's European Inspired Melbourne Wedding
Effortless, Romantic with a European feel was the brief for Anita & Peter’s Perfect Day in Melbourne. With the Wedding Day exceeding all expectations for the couple, Anita shares her beautiful day with us below.
The Venue ~ Siglo Bar, Melbourne.
We had always dreamed of a European destination wedding but getting engaged in December 2019 meant that we were having to consider logistical barriers. Living in Queensland and with the numerous lockdowns and border closures, we knew what was most important to us was to get married in front of those we loved most so it had to be in Melbourne. We have always loved the effortlessness and European feel of Siglo Bar so when the idea came to us to get married there, it was a no brainer!

“Select a venue that is true to you and your partner, and embodies the feeling you wish to evoke. I would also recommend a venue that has multiple locations for photos (either on the property or surrounds) and bonus points if the venue is naturally photogenic as this will save you time/money/organisation/stress trying to fill empty spaces and walls.”
The Dress ~ Le Chic by Hera Couture
I had tried on a few very different wedding dresses prior to being given advice from a girlfriend who told "think of what kind of bride you would like to be: Classic, modern, romantic etc and then try on dresses within that style". I knew I wanted to be a romantic bride and I loved the way satin looked against my skin and how I felt like a bride when I wore it. When I saw my dress hanging in the bridal boutique, I knew it was something special and when I put it on, it was instant love.
The Earrings - Ada by Witt & Pearl
I purchased the Ada Keshi Pearl drop because I wanted to wear earrings that would complement the tone of my satin wedding dress and a pearl earring felt so elegant and timeless. I wanted a classic yet modern pair of earrings that were not overly ornate or dangly and these earrings were PERFECT! I love the organic and irregular pearl drop, the colour and the scale of these earrings, they are so beautiful.
The Wedding Party
We were more concerned with the Wedding Party feeling good and having a great time than for everybody to wear co-ordinating dresses and suits. For the Groom and Groomsmen, we wanted them to wear a dinner suit or black suit that they felt good in.
I gave my Bridesmaids a spectrum of colours to choose from and let them pick what shade and style they would like to wear. I then shared this colour palette to my genius Florist and she brought it all together with the florals.
The Guest~list
It was difficult to stay within the 80-90 person capacity as we had a lot of family members to consider but we stripped it back to those who have loved and supported us. It is always tricky navigating family and family friends so we gave our respective sides a certain number of friends they were welcome to invite to keep them happy.
The I Do’s & Dont’s
Do ask a friend ! "We asked our best friend to be our celebrant which was one of the best decisions we made"
Do Mingle With Guests ! "We made time to mingle with all of our guests following our ceremony where we held cocktails and canapes before heading off for our photos."
Do Consider Live Entertainment ! "We hired a saxophonist who performed alongside the DJ and it really elevated the entire dance floor experience!"
Don't Forget about the Getting Ready Space ! "I wish I had considered the getting ready hotel more thoughtfully as the room itself was a bit small with separate spaces - I found it really limited our getting ready photos"
